The Rotary Club of Royston works to support local, national and international causes and projects, both directly and through Rotary International’s charity, the Rotary Foundation.

Story

Three generations of the Busby/Howard family (with a mere 65 years between our oldest and youngest team members) will be taking part in the sponsored Swimathon at Royston Pool at 7pm on Sunday 13 October.  Grandad John, Jack, Daisy, Ben, Ted and I have an hour for our team to complete as many lengths as possible!

The money we raise will be split between the Royston Rotary Club (who have organised this fantastic event) and the various charities they support and a charity of our choice.  We have decided to support  East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).  Thirty years ago my dad (Grandad John) was part of Granta Round Table who were one of the driving forces behind setting up the The Cambridge Children's Hospice in Milton (now part of EACH).  Dad was a founding Trustee of the Milton hospice which was opened by Diana, Princess of Wales in 1989.  At the time it was one of only 4 children's hospices in the world.  I have fond memories of various fundraising events and activities I took part in as a child to raise money for the hospice.  I love that 3 generations of our family now have an opportunity to raise money and support this very special charity and the amazing work they do.

Unfortunately it is not possible to split donations across two charities on one Just Giving Page so we've had to set up two pages with the hope that people willing to sponsor us will work together to try and keep the donations across the 2 pages fairly even?

Any donation you are able to give is very much appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
