Pete Bisgrove is raising money for The Salvation Army

30 Mile THANK-YOU Challenge · 12 May 2021

The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Republic of Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and Community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, all adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction. Alongside our work in the UK, The Salvation Army International Projects Office works with communities around the world to support and empower them to defeat poverty and injustice. Our development projects are created and implemented in partnership with communities to enable them to build a better life and future for themselves. The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity in England (214779), Wales (214779), Scotland (SC009359) and the Republic of Ireland (CHY6399)

Story

Team Chariot (founded in 2014) is always 'Outdoors & Active to support charities'. From marathons to mud races, mountain hikes to gruelling SF test marches, we like to help those who are helping others. We do this by competing in adrenalin driven challenges, raising the profiles of those who need it as we go. (checkout: teamchariot.com)

Team Chariot ABC's are: Fun, Encouragement, & a Message of Hope.  Our type of Fun is outdoors, all weathers, exciting, exhilarating, & very physical. Mental & physical fitness is a must.  Our Encouragement is towards whoever we're supporting, other competitors & each other.  Our Message of Hope is most important and quite simple: "God has NOT Forgotten You".

This year Team Chariot created the 30 Mile THANK-YOU Challenge idea to have 2 aims.

1st is to encourage people to say 'Thank You' to a COBI. That is any Charity, Organisation, Business or Individual that helped many during the covid Pandemic. Thousands of 'COBI's are now struggling themselves. We can help them.

2nd aim is to help people get motivated, to have a sense of purpose and bring a feel-good factor as they help someone else. Getting fitter & healthier in the process.

So, here's an opportunity for us public to step up, shake off any Lockdown blues, roll our sleeves up and help those who have helped so many since Covid hit. They need us now.

So Team Chariot, is pleased to say 'THANK-YOU' to the Salvation Army - the way we know how.

The 30 Mile THANK-YOU Challenge, should anyone wish to join in with their own COBI, virtually, is described on our website: teamchariot.com.

For the Salvation Army, or any COBI, any donation, kind word, gift, blessing or help, will be greatly received to continue their work.

Choose a COBI, grab some free air, and see you in the great outdoors sometime?

Many thanks & God bless
