Story
On April 26th Team Conway/Constantinou will be donning their trainers, pounding the streets of London and taking in a whole 26.2 miles of its finest sights, all in the name of Charity.
Nicola is hoping mainly to break the sub-4hr barrier after running 2013 in an annoyingly close 4hr 06mins, but is also praying that she's not lapped by her ageing father (who is just hoping to make it round...).
For Melissa, this is her first marathon. She is running in memory of her father who was an enthusiastic and talented marathon runner (considerably better than us, that's for sure...) having tackled numerous fell races and half marathons, and completing the London Marathon not once, but twice, in 3hr 30mins.
So think of us as we embrace those 5am starts in cold, wet weather, endure the shin splints, the tired legs and the endless hours of foam rolling that await us. It goes without saying that when the day actually comes, we will give it all we have and more, so if you could do the same and donate whatever you can - we would be more than grateful! Even the smallest donation will help us towards our target for a very good cause.
Everything that we raise will go to Emergency UK, an independent nonprofit organisation that provides support for medical care, rehabilitation and relief efforts for the victims of wars, land mines, poverty and natural disasters around the world - a worthy cause, I'm sure you (and hopefully your wallets) will agree.
Thank you in advance.
