Story
There is no ‘I’ in a team but there is individual brilliance,
Paul Dear dedicated the last 12 months of his life to raising money and
awareness for the disease that he lost his battle too. Prostate Cancer
I met Paul in 2016 when I did the Football to Amsterdam ride the first time, I instantly struck up a friendship with him, he was that type of man. Everybody liked him, he told me about his story and battle with Prostate Cancer and that he was going to ride again in 2018. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed too late and the cancer was getting the better of him. So he dedicated his final months to telling others his story and how people must go and get checked out.
I visited Paul with a friend just weeks before he passed away, as always he was very upbeat about the whole situation. He told us that he understood what was happening, and also told us in no uncertain terms that he didn’t want our sympathy. “I just want you to tell others to get checked out or they could be faced with the same situation”.
Below is a link to a radio interview he gave just weeks before his passing, please have a listen, share it and help us save other people’s lives.
Thank you.
