Story

On December 31st 2012 our mother in law Jan lost her long battle with cancer. In an attempt to repay the kindness and support shown to her and our family by the Martlets Hospice my sisters in law and I have banded together to create 'Team Doe' and are taking part in the Martlets Midnight walk TONIGHT!

13 miles in the middle of the night in honour of Jan.

Karen, Laren and I have been inspired by Jan's strength and determination to fight her illness, to endure so much pain and treatment so that her loving husband, three sons and four grandchildren could all have as much time with her as possible. I owe a personal debt of gratitude and admiration as she waited as long as she was able to meet the latest memeber of the Doe family, baby Alexander. That she got to meet him and see him just long enough to say hello is something that I will always be thankful for. It wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated care and support of the Martlet's staff.

The Martlets relies on donations and needs more than £8,000 a day to provide the best end of life care imaginable so our aim is simple. We will do the walking and we're asking you to support us by giving them some cash - and I promise we won't take a cab or anything!

Thank you fo your support. Nelle, Karen and Laren.
