Hemel 10k and 1.5k Superhero Fun Run 2017 · 9 July 2017 ·
It seemed such a good idea in January when July was but a distant speck on the horizon. One of our number (the nice one) had a 10k run as a 2017 goal and really how hard could that be? Plenty of time to train for that. So lulled by a false sense of security, misplaced optimism, and a good meal washed down with a tipple or two, Team Eats signed on the dotted line. It would be a gentle jog whilst raising funds for a wonderful charity at the same time. A doddle
The intervening months have seen some changes to the line up, an interesting and varied approach to training (sporadic, efficient, bursts of overdoing it) and not a few injuries sustained (leave the balancing to the seals Ms Other Nice One & yes, yes it's very important to stretch).
Now we find the day is fast approaching (certainly more quickly than some of us can run!) and yet we remain resolute to complete the course one way or another. Some of us may find it a breeze (future marathon runners & the Duracell bunny to name but two) whilst others may be remembering that speed isn't everything, it's the taking part that matters and luckily the sun sets late in July (what time will they pack up?). Fortunately we have the Team Eats celebration BBQ to look forward to post run.
On a serious note we are delighted to be fundraising for this very worthy cause. Rennie Grove Hospice Care does an amazing job so please dig deep and show your support
Thank you!

N.B. Our 2017 goal setter has upped her game & will now be running a marathon in September. FYI - you are on your own for that one!
