Story

Just a quick update that we did it!

After 4 very gruelling days of over 10 hours each of endless trudging uphill and endurance saw us over the finish line. It has been an amazing event testing us all in so many ways including lack of sleep due to the altitude which no one told us about ....however the Team spirit really helped to get us all through it and together with the knowledge so many people had so generously supported us!!

A Massive Thank You!!

In just 1 weeks time Jonathan Day , Rupert Swallow and David Evans will be taking part in the Everest in the Alps event which is the ultimate winter sports endurance challenge. The goal is very simple: to ascend the height of Mount Everest on skis – while raising money for worthy causes. It is a gruelling event based in Verbier in the Swiss Alps, which involves approximately 32 hours of uphill ski touring and only 3 hours of downhill, with up to 20 separate ascents. Each day we will climb between 2,000m – 2,500m to reach the overall target of 8,848m. The average time out on the snow is 8 hours a day and up to altitudes of 3,500m, we will burn through a daily average of 10,000 calories – the equivalent of running three back-to-back marathons.
.
The team is incurring all the event costs, which will enable 100% of the funds raised to go to these four charities.
 Thanks from Team Excalibur
