Mighty Hike 2023
Hello everyone, Just a last word to let you all know that we did it. Yesterday Fiona, Gemma and I walked 26.2 miles along the North Norfolk Coastal Path and, thanks to your generosity, raised nigh on £1,700.
Hello dear friends and family,
We’re at it again….on Saturday 20th May me, Sophie, Gemma and Fiona will be walking 26.2 miles along the North Norfolk Coastal Path to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. As people who know us well this will be of no surprise we all love a physical challenge and whilst the coastal path is flat and the walk is during the day…none of us is getting any younger.
So why do we do it? Well I know why I do and that is because I can…and if I can, in my book, I should because we all know people who couldn’t and, who through no fault of their own, have had their lives and futures changed and in some cases ended prematurely by cancer.
I know we’ve asked for your support before and we completely understand if your thoughts are…REALLY…AGAIN…always after money that lot but we would be grateful for what you are able to give. And for that we promise that Gemma will update you with pictures and cheery comments on our training exploits. That we will all train diligently once we’ve bought all the kit we need, Fiona will keep us informed of the latest requirements no doubt, but sticks…really? the coastal path is very flat and I….well I’ll start planning tasty snacks and a post-hike meal. And actually on that note we won’t be going anywhere without Mark Perry’s legendary date slice….epic long walk fodder…
We’ve all been touched by cancer in some shape or form and if we’re to believe the data that 50% of us will get it at some point in our lives it is vital that there are funds available to support us all.
As always thanks for taking the time to read this and please donate what you can.
With our love and gratitude
Sophie, Gemma and Fiona (Team FiGS)
