This year I will be running the GSR 10 miles raising funds for the awesome Homestart- Portsmouth who have been supporting families for 30 years this October!  As a health visitor I have worked alongside Homestart on and off for over a decade and have seen the incredible difference that they make. We refer families for variety of support including groups and 1:1 peer support. Their volunteers have been a life line to many families, being someone they can talk to and offering vital links into the wider community, helping them to access playgroups, parks and other services, reducing isolation and stress. When I said I was running and shared the help Homestart offer my awesome son Sam (aged 10) said he wanted to do something to help families access this support.  So he has signed himself up for junior (9-15 year olds, 2.5km) event.
