Story

Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride

Sunday 14th July 2013

TEAM GD

On the above date family and friends of the late Gren Davis, will be taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool cycle ride in Gren’s memory, led by Gren’s wife Bev and sons, Mike and Brett.

‘TEAM GD’ will be fundraising for Myeloma UK and the Haematology Ward at Blackpool Victoria Hospital (Blue Skies Charity).

WHEN DONATING PLEASE DONATE TO THE CHARITY WITH THE LOWEST TOTAL TO DATE.

Gren was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) on 22nd December 2010 and for almost 22 months fought a brave and courageous battle. There is no cure as yet for Myeloma, and when diagnosed Gren was told that only 50% of people diagnosed would live for 5 years from diagnosis and only 10% would live for 10 years. Despite being told this Gren stayed positive and always had a smile on his face. He took part in trials so that others in the future may benefit from the trial research. Sadly Gren lost his fight and passed away on 4th October 2012.

Team GD hope to help bring forward the date when a cure for Myeloma is found and help cancer patients from around this area benefit from their stay on the Haematology Ward at BVH.
