Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :- this is a group page for me( Carleen), Katie, Jayne, Ann, Ellen, Claire, Emma, Tamara, Michelle, francine and Blue,  we are completing tough mudder in September to raise money for alderhey children's charity. The reason we are going to do this is because my son has a rare condition called crouzon syndrome, and this is his story :-

George was diagnosed with crouzons at 4 months old , his condition is were the bones in his skull and face fuse quicker than normal and he needs operations to correct it! He has had over 25 operations so he's high maintence were the nhs is concerned. He has had major surgery twice, when he was 1 to stop the bones fusing in his skull, and his recent one to stop his bones fusing in his face! George had been on cpap (overnight vent) since he was 6 months old, his condition has also caused vision impairment and diplopia (double vision) and significant hearing loss this has caused George to  have complex needs. This recent major op is mainly to help his breathing but also can improve both vision and hearing, it also can change his appearance but he has always been beautiful anyway!

His major op entails all the bones in his face being broken, a frame (worth £10.000) being attached to face and brought forward slowly (done twice daily by myself) he needs to keep the frame on for 4 months, it's the biggest Craniofacial operation anyone can have! He's is very brave and my hero!

But being in alderhey you are never that far away from a hero, children with heart conditions, tumours, cancer and many more conditions, they take brave to another level and are true superheroes, a lot of the time we take the nhs for granted until you need it and see how much everything costs, this is just a way to give a little back!

Alderhey children's charity has raised £20million for equipment and research, but they still need help to reach their target and make it a world class hospital for all our children

So please give what ever you can give, every little helps!
