Story

#TeamGiveBack is a campaign aimed at encouraging people across the world to give back, inspired by the epic legacy of Hussain and the sacrifice he made.

Hussain gave everything he had for the benefit of those around him, and made the ultimate sacrifice for social justice and equality. We invite everyone to join this initiative and follow the example set by Hussain ibn Ali.

As part of this year’s #TeamGiveBack campaign, Who is Hussain want to raise £10,000 for the Iraq Relief Fund. Iraq is the resting place of Hussain ibn Ali, and annually tens of millions of pilgrims, all inspired by Hussain in their own way, descend upon the city of Karbala to pay their respects.

The UN estimates that there are almost 1 million internally displaced persons in Iraq at the moment. The ongoing crisis in Syria has exacerbated the problem.

£10,000 will:

  • Provide 31 families with enough high quality tents to house them temporarily until suitable long-term accommodation can be found.

  • Provide them with blankets and heaters to keep them warm.

  • Provide them with reusable water filters, which can make otherwise dirty water drinkable.

  • Provide them with medical kits, to help treat minor medical issues and prevent the spread of disease in cramped conditions.
