Velindre Cancer Services provides treatment, care and support to patients and their families. Money raised by our fundraisers allows us to support projects over and above those provided by the NHS including ground breaking research, specialist equipment, nurses and staff training.

Story

We are a group of staff from Glamorgan Cricket and friends that are heading to Paris on the 6th March 2011 to participate in the Paris Half Marathon.

We are a team of runners of varying abilities who have been working very hard to be sure that we will be up to the task of completing the 13mile distance. However, now comes the important part... Raising money for a great cause!

The team is running in aid of Velindre Hospital.

For anyone that hasn’t heard of Velindre, it is the largest non-surgical cancer hospital in Wales providing Radio Therapy, Chemotherapy and other specialised anti-cancer treatments.

Fortunately, none of us have had to use Velindre, however, family members and friends have had to.

The service that Velindre provides is second to none. The way in which they care for their patients and support the families is exceptional.

In order for them to continue their fantastic service, there is a constant need for fundraising.

If you could spare a little bit of cash to sponsor us, and to support Velindre, we would be so grateful!
