Sodbury Slog 2021 · 14 November 2021

Grief Encounter aims to relieve the emotional distress of bereaved children, young people and their families. We help by developing and promoting resources and by raising public awareness of bereavement issues for children. No-one can wave a magic wand but Grief Encounter can help the journey.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 14th November, "Team Horton", and about 1,000 others, are taking part in the 2021 Sodbury Slog - a 10 mile lung-busting, trainer-ruining, hill-climbing, multi-terrain challenge in and around the Chipping Sodbury and Horton countryside.

But who is “Team Horton” ? I hear you ask.
Well, we are a group of runners of various abilities, ranging from the very slow (Dave & Tony) to quick (Pauline, Paul, Ellen & Thom, plus Jo,  plus Catherine, Charlotte, Laura & Gemma).  And, for reasons best known to Dave, we are running dressed up as bank robbers !!

But why are we putting ourselves through all this mud and pain ? Well, we are looking to raise £1,000 for Grief Encounter (UKs leading children's bereavement charity), so we are asking for donations that we can pass on to this good cause that is very personal to many of us. The donations don’t have to be much, but any money you do give will be very much appreciated.

So … please wish Team Horton luck for the 14th, and thank you, thank you in anticipation for your generosity.
