Story

Our staff team - Claire, Moyra, Amy, Imogen, Lynn, Chris and Gillian are taking part in the Kiltwalk Glasgow 2023 to raise funds for our charity Home-Start Glasgow South. Home-Start Glasgow South is a family support charity based in the Southside of Glasgow. Our team of volunteers and staff provide practical and emotional support to families with at least one child up to the age of 8. Our goal is to help give children the best possible start in life. At the heart of the organisation is a dedicated team of amazing volunteers who provide vital support for families in their own homes. For families who may be in more pressing needs, Home-Start Glasgow South offers intensive family support through dedicated family support workers who work with mum, dad and children respectively. Our charity also hosts weekly groups and throughout the year facilitate family outings which enable families to share experiences which otherwise may not be possible. Home-Start Glasgow South works with families who are struggling to cope with the challenges of parenthood with sometimes extremely difficult personal circumstances such as isolation, mental health difficulties, bereavement, family breakdown, addiction, physical ill health and more. We want all families to have access to resources which make everyday life less stressful and more enjoyable. All funds we raise through taking part in the Kiltwalk Glasgow 2023 will make a real difference to the local families that we work with.
