Story

Team iinsaniun - Rohingya Bangladesh

More than 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to Bangladesh since violence erupted there late last few months, currently on the border of Bangladesh and Myanmar there is a humanitarian crisis of epic proportion. As a result of the persecution and genocide faced by the Rohingya Muslim people of Myanmar, they are fleeing in 1000s to neighbouring Bangladesh to seek refuge.

On the 19th October till 30th October, working in conjunction with registered humanitarian organisation Muslim Charity, I with my team embarked on an emergency mission to supply vital food and medical aid to the Rohingya in the make shift refugees camps in Bangladesh.

After assessing the camp with my group of volunteers in Teknaf, the location of the refugee camps currently occupied by the fleeing persecuted Rohingya people of Myanmar.
Our goal and intention now with all your donations is to build a module village that will house almost a thousand refugees.
We have agreed terms with the Bangladeshi authority and the Bangladesh Army to build one hundred shelters that will accommodate around 5-8 people each, 25 Public Toilets, 25 our door showers, a water tank that will give access to around 5 thousand people daily. 2 schools that will accommodate around 400 children.
Supply winter kit to almost a thousand people.

Our mission also is to supply emergency equipment, medical supplies, and survival packs of food, as well as sanitation kits. Whilst there I will also be assessing what is required further for my next trip. With winter closing in rapidly, I can only imagine that the catastrophic suffering and death toll of human life within these camps is going to get considerably worse.

As you are all aware Muslims have been forced to flee to Bangladesh after a vicious military attack. More than half of these refugees are 60% children.

They arrived in border towns and into Cox’s Bazar with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and are now living in truly desperate conditions. Children are wandering over the muddy ground, suffering from diarrhoea and skin diseases. Contaminated water and human waste is everywhere. Sanitation is imperative and desperately needed.

A absolutely desperate humanitarian situation.

Bangladeshi officials report that 20,000 women are currently pregnant and 600 have given birth since arriving. However, these numbers are almost certainly an underestimate as many births are taking place with no formal medical help. Babies are being delivered on the side of roads, in the open air, surrounded by refuse.

No child should be denied food and clean water. No child should be living without sanitation facilities or basic healthcare. No child should be cut off from receiving an education. However, this is the reality for vulnerable little ones sheltering in Bangladesh. They need our help more than ever.

An emergency donations can mean the difference between life and death for a Rohingya family. Please join our cause of humanity and become a iinsaniun today.

I would be grateful for any donations given to help me reach our goals.
I know that many of you have been raising awareness, and sharing the pictures. like myself I’m sure you feel frustrated at not being able to do more. Well now you can. You can help. You can get involved, and you can make a difference to end the unnecessary suffering.

You can donate on my Justgiving Page, or you can get in touch with me personally, as I will be happy to collect.

Its our intention to operate a purely 100% donation policy of the contributions we are given. Its my hope that I can help combat the despair and hunger with the means of your generous donations. All receipts can be supplied if asked for, as its very important for me on a personal level to maintain complete transparency.

Please find it in your heart to donate and as Human Beings, this humanitarian crisis and the suffering inflicted on so many innocent lives IS our responsibility. At this catastrophic event in time for which history will look back upon ashamedly and in horror, let us be of those that acted in some small way to appease the horror and help rebuild homes and bring some structure to their shattered lives. Let it not be said that when humanity needed us, we stood by and did nothing.

By giving the bare essentials to a nation of people outcast, by feeding, clothing, and offering medical aid, let us take hold and try and stabilise a situation that has been shattered and left beyond fragmentation

For in our small ways we will have done what we could have for the Rohingya’s suffering.

Please donate today.

Thank you.
