THE EVENT:

Livewire1350 Presents: Livewire Jailbreak 2016!

Our Team has 48 hours to get as far away from campus as possible, without using any of our own money! Hitch-hiking our way across the globe. We want to raise as much money for Macmillan as possible, and win by being further away from campus than any of the other teams. Past teams have managed to get to Dubai, Budapest, Berlin, but just how far might we be able to travel?

This year we are raising money and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support, and  we'll be going head to head with other groups to see who can raise the most amount of money for this amazing charity that has helped the lives of so many at UEA and around the UK.

Last year, the combined fundraising effort totalled at £13,000, which this year’s cohort intends to obliterate. Initially, Livewire's fundraising goal is set for £15,000, so please help us raise as much money and awareness for this great cause!

THE CHARITY:

Macmillan Cancer Support

No one should face cancer alone.

So when you need someone to turn to, we’re here. Right from the moment you’re diagnosed, through your treatment and
beyond, we’re a constant source of support, giving you the energy and inspiration to help you take back control of your life, and feel more like yourself again.

Their Ambition

We want to reach and improve the lives of
everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.

There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and as more people live longer with their cancer, this number is set to grow to 4 million by 2030. We want to make sure we can provide support to everyone who needs it, to help people affected by cancer feel more in control of their lives.
