The Jigsaw Run is an event organised for the benefit of Jigsaw Trust. This year, there is a 10K accredited run and a 5K fun run. The Jigsaw Run Team are a mix and match team!

Emma and Frankie work at Jigsaw School and they are RUNNING10K, aiming for serious and fast times.  

Jill is the Chair of Trustees for Jigsaw Trust and is a Governor for Jigsaw School. Jill and her son Stuart, a former pupil of the school, will be RUNNING 5K.

Ian is the Head of Finance at Jigsaw Trust and he has a team that will be SPEED WALKING 5K, with the aim of finishing the walk before the 10K runners finish their run.

We are running and speed walking this year’s Jigsaw Run hoping to raise money for additional sensory equipment for our pupils and learners.

Many autistic children and adults have sensory issues that can affect one or more of their senses which can in turn impact how they experience different environments.  Sensory equipment can be an excellent way of supporting concentration and focus and reduce sensory stress – something that is incredibly valuable in a teaching and learning environment such as Jigsaw.  Sensory toys and equipment can also provide a sensory input that is being craved, be that visual or tactile, and have the power to capture the imagination. 

Some of the smaller sensory equipment includes items such as: Play Sand; Water Beads; Peg Boards;  Squeeze Toys; Sensory Cushions; Kaleidoscope; Massage Roller; Therapressure Brush; Wooden Ring Toy; Theraputty; ThereBand; Sensofoam: Pipecleaners; Mood Pillow; Ear Defenders; Chews; and more.
