Jilly; a truly wonderful wife, mum and nain lost her courageous fight for life at the end of April this year. Jilly had been suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and had received a stem cell transplant but sadly she died from post transplant complications. Jilly was so grateful that the charity Anthony Nolan had found her a donor who gave her the chance to live.
Jilly spent the last 15 years of her working life heading up psychological therapy services in North Wales and the greatest part of her role was to improve the health outcomes of patients suffering from cancer. It was a service held in extremely high regard and the NHS trust have now set up an award in her memory, which is testament to the huge contribution she made.
We as a family want to continue to celebrate her life and keep her memory alive and raise as much money as possible for the wonderful charity that is Anthony Nolan. And as part of that effort have decided to run the Manchester 10k in 2017, a race Jilly intended to run herself.
We have been absolutely humbled that so many of our lovely friends have supported us in this endeavor and are touched beyond words that they will be running alongside us.
