Story
After conquering the highest mountain in Great Britain last
summer and raising nearly £4,000 for local charities in the process, the J M
Taylor team have decided to take on the famously tough Lairig Ghru trek from
Braemar to Aviemore for their 2018 Charity Challenge on the 11th
August.
With its rocky climbs, boulder fields and exposed route the
19 mile walk across the top of the Highlands will be an arduous and demanding
challenge for the guys and gals from Blackburn, but they are up for it!
This year our chosen local charity is the Bridge of Don and Danestone
First Responders. They respond on behalf of Scottish Ambulance Service to 999
calls within the Bridge of Don, Danestone and surrounding areas, as well as
attending calls elsewhere in the city when required. They are a vital resource
and are often the first to attend an emergency. They are fully trained to deal
with most medical emergencies and carry basic Ambulance equipment including
lifesaving defibrillators and oxygen cylinders. However, as a service they are
all volunteers and, receiving no funding from the government, they rely solely
on charitable donations
So please show your support by donating to this worthy cause
through our Justgiving page. Thank you!
