Story
The Joint Performance Improvement Centre (JPIC) are a group of individuals who work across Network Rail and South Western Railway to drive performance and support the vision of 'a high performing railway, delivered together '
This month they are taking part in the Action for Children fundraising activities to raise £1000 (or more). We have raised already almost 50% of our target We have different activities happening in the team, which include the team getting summer ready. You can find a few examples below:
- John Loughan is running 6k, 3 times a week for the four weeks. His target time for 5k is 30 mins. A great effort
- Sharon Peirson is doing 1 hours hula hooping every day and she partakes in this activity before work at around 5am every morning!
- Sonjeeta Mahapatra is walking over 10,000 steps every day and taking 3 x 30 min cycling classes a week on the peloton
- The JPIC team are hosting a quiz at the end of March, and every team member will be making a donation based on the number of correct answers they have to the questions.
- Mungo Duncan is cycling for 9 miles every day in a target time of less than 30mins
- Clair Parmenter is walking every day, completing a minimum of 10,000 steps per day
- Chris Prior is back out there getting his step count up to a target of 10,000 steps per day
Now more than ever looking after our mental health is very important, which is why we have decided to join the £1k Your Way competitive fundraiser We are taking part alongside other teams from South Western Railway and Network Rail to have some fun, but more importantly to raise £1,000 for Action for Children this March. Hundreds of thousands of children and young people were struggling with their mental health before the pandemic. Now, reports suggest that one in six are living with a mental health condition. Your help can be a vital lifeline for these young people. Your teams £1,000 could train 60 Action for Children staff members to support young people at risk of suicide.
We would be very grateful if you can spare a small donation to help this very worthwhile charity.
Thank you.
