Team Julia Raising Money For NI Hospice

Mourne Seven Sevens challenge · 21 July 2017
As all of our family and friends will know, our mummy Julia passed away at home this year. We had the privilege of the support of NI Hospice.
The Hospice was able to work along side the palliative care team in the City Hospital. Together they were able to advise and inform us of the medical attention my mummy needed as well as who to contact if she was struggling with pain and we always knew we had someone at the end of the phone.
At the beginning it was a really frightening time for us being Mummy’s main carers as we aren’t from medical backgrounds however NI Hospice made this process easier for us. Our Hospice specialist nurse was super at providing comfort to my mummy as well as explaining everything and we were great learners,
As a family we would not have been able to keep our mummy at home without the support we received from NI Hospice. Everyday was so precious and was made more special because mummy was at home just as she wished.
Our fundraising group Team Julia wants to help NI Hospice provide specialist care to someone else’s mummy, daddy, grandparent, brother, sister, son or daughter to ensure their last wishes are also granted.
All of your support would be greatly appreciated.
