The four of us (Alan, Connie, Tracy & Colin Chan) are raising funds for Survivors Of Bereavement By Suicide (SOBS) by running the Ealing Half Marathon on 27/09/2015. The main reason for choosing this charity is because earlier this year, sadly we lost our beloved sister/ sister-in-law/ dearest friend, Emily, after her battle with post-natal depression. We all felt the importance of raising awareness of the support available for those who are experiencing similar things. We have all been so blessed with much support from family and friends during these tough times and wanted to contribute somehow to helping those less fortunate in similar situations.
The Ealing Half Marathon was chosen as the fundraising event as during this time 2 years ago, Emily and her brother, Alan, ran this same event to raise money for another cause. Not only does event have special memories, later we found out that she had conquered this course whilst pregnant with her two beautiful girls.
Messages from Team Limey to Emily:
"You were always the really cheerful one who brought our family together and even in your death you continue to do this. Words cannot describe how much I miss you and the void left in my heart. Your spirit will continue in those you have left behind including me with your memory forever imprinted in my heart." - Your 三哥 Alan
"Dearest Em, I've missed you so dearly. But I know you are watching us, running with us and you'll be so proud of us :) xxx " - Tracy
"I always remember Emily for her cheek-to-cheek grin! From the holidays together as kids with her family, to the time studying at Cambridge together, and especially on her wedding day, you could see happiness shine from her. She was such a genuine kind-hearted person, full of warmth and an immensely generous friend. " - Colin Chan
"Emily, like everyone else, whenever I think of you it's your classic grin that would come into my mind. You were like a ball of energy that you would always try your best in every task, and that was something I always admired about you. I'm so glad that we met and finally became family, it's just a shame that it lasted so short. Until we meet again..xxx" -大嫂 Connie
