We put Secondary Breast Cancer first. Because there is no cure yet. This disease spreads to the rest of the body and affects women and men. So finding a cure means a diagnosis is no longer an ultimatum. People will have more days doing what matters most, living the life they love.

Story

Hi all! I have an important cause I’m raising money for!

My mother was first diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2014 and after a treatment program of  Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, she was given the all clear.

Then in February of this year, 9 years after her initial diagnosis,  we received the devastating news that her breast cancer is back, and she has developed secondary breast cancer in her bones and lungs.

Thanks to support from our family, friends and the Oncology Team at Addenbrookes Hospital , she is doing OK and hopefully with the right medication she will stay stable for many years to come. But sadly secondary breast cancer is incurable and not enough money is invested in research to find a cure.

So  together with our amazing team of friends and family, they’re challenging themselves  to run a half marathon on October 14th around Victoria Park, London. Several of us, the running beginners (myself included!), are also doing a 10k to raise money for the same cause.

If you know me, you know I don’t run EVER, let alone do something like this, so please help motivate me, our team, and most importantly my mother as we try to find hope and motivation during this time.

Despite the news, we are not wavering in our strength. My mother is  a powerful woman and I think the fact she’s doing this just about proves it!

Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to our family and friends for their continued support❤️

Kindest

Grace xx
