Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

At Heartburn Cancer UK we work to raise awareness of the link between persistent heartburn, oesophageal cancer and a related condition called Barrett's oesophagus. We encourage those experiencing persistent heartburn to seek medical advice early - because doing so may save their life.

Cancer of the oesophagus is the most rapidly increasing cancer in the UK today. Despite the best modern treatments survival from this cancer is appalling, mainly because diagnosis is made at too late a stage. Through a programme of education at a local, regional and national level we hope to make a significant impact on the early diagnosis and treatment of oesophageal cancer, which will help to fulfil our ultimate goal of saving 1000 lives per year from this disease. Visit www.h-cas.org for more information.
