Story
Updated 3rd September 2020: Our dad Bob Hayes started this team as he was so looking forward to climbing snowdon for his granddaughter, he had even packed his walking gear ready to go. So in dads memory we want to make this walk even bigger and better than it would have already been as he would be so pleased to see all the support! Some more uncles, cousins, friends and daughter Vicky will be joining the walk to raise more awareness and walk in memory of our dad, the greatest dad there ever was.
LAST year Megan's mum Elizabeth plus aunts Julie, Gemma and uncle Terry raised more than £5,000 to help fight cystic fibrosis by running the Vitality 10k challenge in London.
Team Megan K's new challenge involves Megan's dad John, aunty Vicky, grandads Bob (in memory) and John, uncles Dave, Chris, Raymond, Terry, tackling Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales.
The money-raising climb was due to be on Saturday May 16, 2020, but the Coronavirus crisis has put paid to that date. Instead, the Snowdon Twelve will be putting their best feet forward on 8th May 2021....so even more time to support our Challenge.
Our beautiful Megan was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when she was three weeks old so this charity is very close to our hearts. It is not only important for us to raise as much money as we can to help find a cure. We also want to raise awareness of this rare condition.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. Currently, half of those with CF will not live past age 41.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is fighting for a brighter future for people with CF and their families by funding cutting-edge research, driving up standards of care and supporting people with the condition and their loved ones every step of the way. Thank you for your support.
