The CGEF brings hope of a better future through its secondary/high school sponsorship scheme. Around 350 able girls living in poor economic circumstances in 30 Commonwealth countries benefit annually. Funding for fees, uniforms, transport etc. goes directly to the girls' schools. www.cgefund.org

Story

We're running the British 10K London Run on 12 July 2015 to raise money for the Commonwealth Countries’ League Education Fund (CCLEF) - a charity which raises money in order to support 450 disadvantaged girls in 28 developing countries through their secondary education. Education is one of the most life-changing gifts you can give to anyone – so CCLEF is a fantastic cause.

The average cost of the girls' education is £300 per annum, so we hope you will be able to help. The CCLEF is a fantastic cause, and every single donation helps and is hugely appreciated.

We have organized a Mercer team to do the run this year comprising myself, Martine Ferland, Fiona Dunsire and Sarah Pearse. None of us would describe ourselves as an athlete, but we are all out training to make sure we can complete the course in July and do justice to the cause of every girl's education. Between the four of us, we will be running a marathon distance (nearly)! Here is a photo of a recent training run we did together.
