Story
Myself and some truly amazing friends are doing this hike to support Macmillan and the fantastic work they continue to do. Macmillan have a special place in our heart after my husband, Nick was diagnosed out of the blue with Grade 4 Brain Cancer whilst on a family holiday in Devon in November 2020. Unfortunately, even with a 9hour brain surgery and ongoing intense radiotherapy and chemotherapy we have been given the prognosis of just 12 months. With three beautiful daughters, Lucie (17), Isobel (10) and Evie (8) Nick has everything to fight for and we will be doing everything in our power to beat the odds and the timescales we have been given. Macmillan have provided so much emotional support and financial advice and continue to do so through our journey. As a family, we are positive and thankful for what we have today and now, and will be making 2021 the year for so many happy family memories, in whatever way is possible in the current times!
On that note, we would appreciate absolutely anything you can afford to donate to us for this event and reach our target. Every penny counts and makes a huge difference to the invaluable support this charity can provide to those affected by this awful disease.
