Story

#TeamMo was created for the inspirational force that is Maureen Forshaw by her loving family and friends.  Here's a little bit about our story.

Back in 2016, our mum, a usually fit and healthy mid 50 year old suddenly started to experience bloating symptoms which within weeks resembled a bump akin to someone 8 months pregnant.  After lots of doctors tests and unimaginable worry, mum was advised she had Ovarian Cancer.  Unfortunately mums Cancer had already spread to a late stage by the time she was diagnosed.  Despite 2 gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and an intensive operation, mum sadly passed away on 16th November 2018.

Unfortunately 11 women die every day of Ovarian Cancer, however if diagnosed at the earliest stage, 90% of women would survive 5 years or more. Its so important to our family to raise awareness of the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer, even if we could help one woman understand the signs it may prevent another family going through the heartache that we have had to ensure, which is why #TeamMo will continue to live on in mum's memory.

Our Fundraising this year will see both Steve and Zoe run the London Marathon in April 2019 representing both Target Ovarian Cancer and of course #TeamMo.

To help with the £6000 Target TeamMo are also Climbing Snowdon on 30th March, including all of Mo's grandkids, Maddie, Phoebe, George and Zach.

Huge thanks to all of you who have continued to support this wonderful cause, mum would be so proud
