Story
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, yet research into them receives less than 2% of the UK’s total cancer research spending. This means that while survival rates for breast and prostate cancers have improved hugely over the last few decades, those for brain cancer have remained static.
Alex's daughter Niamh had just turned 3 when she passed away on 29th September 2011, having been diagnosed with a brain tumour a year before. Niamh underwent a great deal of treatment for her tumour including six surgical procedures, all of which she bore with courage, grace and her beautiful smile.
