We are once again running as a family to raise money in memory of our beautiful Amy, who sadly took her own life in 2019. Amy was one of the most caring, loving people you could ever meet, and she always wore the biggest smile on her face. She had the most beautiful singing voice, and as our bridesmaid gave us the honour of not only singing for our wedding ceremony, but also writing her own song for us, which is something we will treasure forever. If you had met her you would have had no idea of the inner turmoil she was suffering. I know we didn’t.
2 years ago we raised over £1000 for Young Minds (or Amy’s charity as the girls call it!) and we wanted to continue to raise more. Despite COVID meaning audience size was limited, we raised £315 from our dance show in November, but we once again wanted to do something extra. 2 years ago we set a family combined goal of 60km, so this time we have decided to double it and attempt to run 120km between us during January. We started by running a family 5k, and that along with Steve's 10k mean we are 30km of the way there, but still have a long way to go!
We would be so incredibly grateful if you could spare anything to help support this amazing charity (and motivate me to once again get my arthritic knees in motion!) Below is some information about what the charity does which we hope shows how important it is, and how they can help to make the mental health of our young people the priority it needs to be. As I said last time, if we can help just one person, then at least some good can come out of this heartbreaking situation.
We love you Amy, forever.
Thank you.
Mel, Steve, Polly & Winnie.
