Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.

Story

"TEAM RACHEL" has been formed by Rebecca Dixon, Anna Carter, Jane Gomm, Rosy Hall, Rachel Ifans, Victoria Bond, Storme Thompson and Louise Stone.

We are all running the Bristol 10km on 20th May in memory of Rachel Dixon and to raise money for Epilepsy Action. Rachel died suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep in May 2010 aged just 18, having developed Epilepsy only a year before. She was an amazing young woman and her tragic death has had a profound effect on her family and friends.

The only positive thing we can do is to help raise awareness of this largely misunderstood condition which affects 600,000 people in the UK and 50 million worldwide.

Even more shockingly, after Rachel's death we discovered that 1,000 (mostly young) people die every year from Epilepsy in the UK alone, so research into finding a cure for this complex condition is crucial.

So far, Rachel's family & friends have raised nearly £24,000 for Epilepsy Action, which is a fantastic tribute to her - it would be amazing to make it £25,000!

So please dig deep - any amount you can donate would be really appreciated.

Thank you so much for your support x
