We believe it is our duty of care to do all we can to support our staff across the Trust during these challenging circumstances, in whatever way we can.

Story

This amazing hospital supported us as a family when our little boy Courtney Scarlett was born with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. Resulting in pulmonary hypertension and needing a heart and lung transplant. Unfortunately Courtney became to weak as well as too young to receive the heart and lung transplant he needed to prolong his life. Courtney passed away on the 4th December 2005 aged 14 months. He did however, save the lives of a baby girl and baby boy by donating his heart valves.

Right now staff across BHT are extremely busy and working so very hard delivering care to those who need it most. Many are working in unfamiliar surroundings, longer shifts, extra days and are having to spend a lot of time away from home and their families to ensure every patient receives the care they deserve. As an NHS charity we believe it is our duty of care to do all we can to support our staff across the Trust, in whatever way we can, and by donating to this appeal you can help too. Donations to this appeal will help us to:- support staff wellbeing and mental health- fund well-being packs for staff- enhance staff areas to provide comfortable spaces for staff to sleep or take a break during/after their shifts- purchase other items or activities that enhance the wellbeing of our staff caring for COVID-19 patients. As our staff look after COVID-19 patients in their greatest hour of need, we can help take care of the wellbeing of our NHS people.
