We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

My 6 year old son Sam was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year on the 1st November.

This was a complete shock for us all which has turned our life upside down. Sam has been amazing hes such a brave little boy and has taken it all in his stride. He has to endure so much every day but always has a smile on his face.

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease ; the Pancreas stops producing insulin.  This is a lifelong condition that cannot be prevented or cured, but with the help of charities like JDRF we hope that one day a cure will be found.

Each day to keep Sam alive he has to endure multiple insulin injections, often upto 12 injections a day along with upto 20 finger pricks.  He can no longer just run around and play like his friends, every thing he eats/drinks and any activity he does has to be accounted for.

JDRF have been an amazing support to us as a family since his diagnosis, they are supporting us in this run to try and raise the much needed funds to continue their research in the hope of one day finding a cure.
