D-Day Cycle Ride
Campaign by SSAFA (RCN 210760)
The D Day Cycle Ride will commemorate the cycling soldiers and the part they played on 6 June 1944 and the following Battle of Normandy.

Story

On 04th September, we will be riding as part of Team Sapper-19 and will deploy on an epic journey of Remembrance along the French Coastline,
taking in the many beaches and battlefields where 156,000 men lost their lives during the D-Day landings and the following Battle of Normandy on the road to Berlin.

The D-Day cycle ride will commemorate the cycling soldiers of WW2 and the part they played on 6 June 1944 and in the following Battle of Normandy. The Ride will include the beaches used for the landings and head inland to include key locations which were the first to be liberated.

Whatever challenges they’re facing, members of the Armed Forces community can rely on SSAFA. With a network of more than 5,800 trained volunteers SSAFA provides practical and emotional support to serving personnel, veterans and military families across the UK and worldwide.

All funds raised will go directly to SSAFA so that they are
able to continue this vital work. SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, has been providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families since 1885. In 2017, our staff and team of volunteers helped over 73,227 people, from Second World War veterans to young men and women who have served in more recent conflicts.
