ST RICHARDS HOSPICE, SUPPORTS THOUSANDS – COSTS MILLIONS
As a local charity I have always been keen to support the hospice which relies mainly on voluntary income, and last year I was extremely flattered to be asked to become a patron of this great charity. To simply run the hospice, St Richards need to raise nearly 70% of their annual cost through voluntary donations. It costs around £6.7million each year for the hospice to support over 2,400 patients and their families. The work they do is vital in ensuring that those with life threatening illnesses can live out the rest of their days in a warm, peaceful environment. Having recently lost both my parents I can appreciate how much this means to the families of the patients.
Following on from my amazing success with The Great North Run (walk!) last year I thought what better way to raise money than to do another! So this year I am doing the Worcester Half Marathon and I’m taking some victims down with me to make up Team Serrell- Fat Boys and Pretty Girls:
The epic force that is televisions antiques elite- Thomas Plant, Jonathan Pratt, Will Farmer together with two ageing cameramen.
Ex professional rugby players and local sporting greats- Stephen Lloyd and Neil Lyman
Ex England cricketer, national journalist and TMS expert- Mike Selvey
My workforce at Philip Serrell Auctioneers, and other sympathetic colleagues and friends will complete the group of 19 runners, hoping to raise as much money as possible to support this fantastic charity.
If you feel you could donate anything at all it would be greatly received by us and the hospice. I’m going for a PB this time so the support of you all would be a great motivator.
Many thanks
Team Serrell
