Funds raised will support our Hamble and Solent boats, helping them to get more local disabled people on the water barrier-free, creating special memories, and improving health and wellbeing.

Story

This started as one of those “great ideas!” in the bar at Mercury Marina where Wetwheels Hamble is based.

Joseph has cerebral palsy and is a permanent power wheelchair user; Philip is a serious couch potato who’s only sporting claim to fame is coming last in the egg and spoon race at school.

Wetwheels enables so many families to access the water together; families with a member with a disability find it virtually impossible to undertake activities that include everyone and are fun to do - Wetwheels is a truly unique charity and gives so much in the way of positive experiences to so many each year.

We have NO idea if the battery in Joseph’s wheelchair will last 5km - but don’t worry, mum Elizabeth will be nearby in Joseph’s car. More concerning is whether Philip can manage to finish 5km without stopping in every pub on the way…..

If we can pull this off PLEASE do sponsor us - Wetwheels is a wonderful charity and this has taken a lot of courage for Joseph to undertake it. All donations are welcome but please, if you can, give generously.

Thanks from Joseph, Philip, Elizabeth and Thomas (who’s giving moral support from home, apparently!)
