Story

🌻 We are Team Sunflower 🌻

🌻 What are we doing? 🌻

Our aim is to walk 100km (62 miles) over the highs and lows of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast in May 2022 to raise money for Rare Dementia Support.

🌻 Who are we? 🌻

Becky is a research associate working across a number of projects at the Association for Dementia Studies (ADS) at the University of  Worcester.

Jane is a former physio, who has personal experience of dementia, and has contributed much to research and teaching across many projects at ADS.

Last, but not least, Jemma is a doctor working in Manchester, who is a student on the Postgraduate Certificate in Person-Centred Dementia Studies at ADS.

Together, we share a love of being outdoors, of being active, and of taking on challenges!

You can read more about our story here.

🌻 Why are we doing this? 🌻

To raise money for Rare Dementia Support, a charity supported by the National Brain Appeal. They run specialist support groups for people living with inherited, atypical, and young onset dementias. One of our team were fortunate to have been able to take part in Rare Dementia Support’s ‘Creative Club’ during the 2021 lockdown.
