A bit about Taolo
After spending his formative years in Botswana and the United Arab Emirates, Taolo grew up and spent many happy years just a stones-throw away from Bournemouth in Poole. From a very early age his dream was to become a doctor and return to Africa so that he could launch the first ever "Flying Doctor" service in Botswana, where he was born.
His dream almost came true - after completing his A-Levels, he travelled to Australia to study medicine, graduating in 2010 before working as a registrar surgeon in Perth, Western Austalia where he also gained his pilot's licence. Taolo returned to Botswana on several occasions to undertake electives in a number of hospitals. Taolo had a deeply felt passion for serving the healthcare needs of poorer communities in the world and he seemed destined to pursue this vocation as his career progressed.

More about MSF
MSF help people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from healthcare. All these situations call for a rapid response with specialised medical and logistical help. But MSF also run longer-term projects, tackling health crises and supporting people where the need is greatest. MSF currently have projects running in over 60 countries. As an MSF donor, you fuel the delivery of medical aid to the people who need it most, no matter where they are or whether they have hit the headlines. Your money pays for millions of consultations, operations, treatments and vaccinations every year.
Some facts on what good a donation can achieve:
- £44.67 - Buys treatment to prevent a woman contracting HIV/AIDS and passing it on to her unborn child
- £134 - Would pay for a measles vaccination for 1,500 children
- £80.34 - Could cover the cost of three days cholera treatment for a patient
For every £ you donate, 86% goes towards front line activity in the field, where MSF are operating.
