202 mile Wokingham - Torquay Cycle

Update - June 2022
After many many many attempts to get the ride going, we have not set a new final date in stone for the ride to take place. August 18th & 19th are the new dates for us to cycle.
Thanks for both your donations and patience whilst we allowed the upheaval of COVID-19 to settle down to a new normal. Very excited for the ride to take place and the group all enjoy the experience.
With the current climate we have made the correct group decision to postpone the ride into 2021. This will allow not only enough time for more group training, It make the event the beat it possibly can be with rest stops overnight stay and celebrations upon completion.
I’ll keep an update diary of the training rides we complete and progress made.
Thankyou again for your support and generosity
22nd - 23rd April 2021
Team TaxCalc & Friends are jumping on their bikes to cycle the 202miles over 2 days from Wokingham to Torquay.
The aim of the ride has 2 parts;
* To remember both Kates Nan (Violet Poole) & Alessandra’s husbands (David) Grandmother Edwina, who both also suffered from dementia, so this ride is very close to our hearts.
* Raise as much money as we can for the Alzheimer’s Society to help and support the fantastic work they do for people that need them most.
The 2 days will be a huge challenge for us all, with Day 1 heading out to Glastonbury where a huge ascent awaits at the end of the day. After a refuel for some hopefully alcoholic beverages we begin the final day down into Torquay. It’s here Kate and her family have spent many holidays and made so many happy memories. Finishing here just felt like the right thing to do when designing the challenge.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.
Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
