Story
On April 3rd 2018 (Exactly 6 months since I was admitted to hospital) myself and a group of involuntary volunteers will be climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours for the UK Sepsis Trust.

On October 3rd 2017 I was rushed into hospital after falling unconscious with septic shock and sepsis. I spent 8 days in a high dependency unit under 24 hour observation and on a constant stream of antibiotics and fluids, with another 2 days on a ward for respiratory issues because I was on my back for so long. Around 150,000 people get affected by sepsis a year with just over half either not surviving or having an organ removed/limb amputated! I'm forever grateful for the quick thinking of my wife phoning the ambulance and the Drs and nurses at the RAH Paisley for a very quick diagnosis (as misdiagnosis is very common) that contributed to me coming out comparatively unscathed! Thanks for reading and any donation would be very much appreciated which will help raise the awareness of Sepsis in the UK.
