Story
I've suffered from various eye conditions since I was a teenager, and over the last few years have been treated at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. This specialist hospital has always been absolutely incredible to me and has massively changed my vision for the better. But it isn't just a hospital, it's also the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in Europe. Its research is truly groundbreaking and ultimately improves the lives of people with every type of eye condition imaginable all across the world.
To try and give something back I've formed Team 2020, made up of my girlfriend Helena, my mum Anna and my Aunty Janice, to take part in Moorfields annual Eye To Eye walk.
It's a 14-mile route across London to help raise over £150,000 towards areas of eye research such as glaucoma, the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, and age-related macular degeneration, the main cause of blindness in adults aged over 60 in the western world. In the five years since Eye to Eye began, donations raised have helped support vital research projects including studies exploring the genetics of keratoconus and the impact of diabetic retinopathy on the structure and function of the eye.
So please help us raise some money by sponsoring us as we trek across London on 10th March!
