WE DID IT

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We (Guy and Ali) are going to Walk/Run 150km in total along the banks of the Thames and try and raise as much money as possible for William Blake House.

Our middle brother Howard's is at a very special home called William Blake House which is desperate for a sensory room. On the face of it, this may seem like a luxury but it really isn't. Howard and other residents at WBH have no manner of filtering out noise and other stimuli from their environment. This results in extreme and painful sensory overload - a good example of this can be seen here:

There is no real solution to this. For Howard, secure and trusted helpers can understand his limited number of communication methods as well as Eurythmy, spacial therapy and other tailored exercises.

However, a sensory room would provide the residents with a space away from ‘our world’ giving them ‘control’ over their environment as well as providing a sense of control and security within themselves.
