A song for Ted · 23 August 2018

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Ted was a pilot of many adventures in his younger years. He flew with the Black Arrows and looped the loop at Farnborough Air Show which has never been repeated. He also served in the RAF, flying to the Antarctic for 2 years and while there he fell down a 30 foot crevice. It was Ted's dogged determination and will that got him out. He taught aerobatics and flew many fighter jets in his day. He also became President Mobutu's personal pilot while in Zaire, as it was then. He was and is also my loving husband and father to my children. Our lives have and will go on and Ted will remember little to none of this. He was brave and skilled and charismatic and the one I turned to . If the research into dementia were more progressed we might have been able to ease Ted's dreadful journey

The song that I have written captures the effect that dementia can have on the person suffering and their loved ones. If you enjoy the song please donate, its for an amazing cause and any donations are welcomed and appreciated.
