Hi everyone,

We (Kris Baker, Callum Baker & Faye O'Brien) are taking on a Mighty Hike for Macmillan... it's 26 miles through the beautiful (and hilly!) Yorkshire Dales.  We're hiking in memory of Kris's husband, Callum's dad and Faye's friend - Aaron Baker.

Aaron loved the Yorkshire Dales, and it was the first place he took me (Kris) on holiday while we were still living in the States.  When we moved to the UK, we settled in the North to be closer to The Dales.  It feels like a very fitting tribute to Aaron for us to take on this challenge and remember the many lovely times we have spent together in this beautiful countryside.

Aaron was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in June 2019.  He was strong, brave and upbeat throughout his year long battle with the disease.  He underwent every treatment that was offered to him, fought hard and was determined to beat the cancer.  Unfortunately, his determination was not enough and he lost his battle in July 2020.

From the moment of diagnosis to his final days, Macmillan was there.  Not just for Aaron, but for the whole family.  Cancer rips your world apart and turns your life upside down, and to have somewhere to turn during that time is invaluable.  That's why we want to raise money for this fantastic charity - so everyone affected by this horrible disease has someplace to turn.

Aaron would be so pleased that we are raising money for Macmillan, and so proud of all of us for taking on a 26 mile trek - especially Callum, who seems to spend all his time in front of a computer screen!  Please support us and help us reach our goal.
