In August 2024 my mum was sadly diagnosed with bladder cancer which rapidly spread to her cervix and surrounding organs. This came as a huge surprise to us all when she was given only a year to live, urging my mum to start her bucket list - unfortunately due to how quickly her cancer spread, mums health deteriorated and left her unable to do so. Mum was bed bound in hospital for the next 4 months, until she was placed on palliative care in hospice; where she sadly lost her battle on the 8th December after a very short but courageous fight.

I have decided to take on this challenge in memory of my mum and to raise awareness for female’s and their organs. Just because my mum couldn’t complete her bucket list, doesn’t mean it should stop anyone else’s! It’s time we advocate for women and stop people dying from these diseases. It’s time to be bold, fierce, and change the conversation around gynae health!
