Story
My little brother Talan died in May 2017 of a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. He was 19 years old and had his whole life ahead of him.
Talan taught us so much about selflessness, dignity and courage in his 19 years. Even during his illness, when he was in so much pain every single day, he thought of nothing but other people. Although my family are positive people who just 'get on' with life, we feel Talan's loss daily and miss our ray of sunshine who brought so much joy to so many peoples' lives. I miss the person I was supposed to have next to me for a lifetime.
I'm taking part in the Serpentine Swim 2019 in Hyde Park, London to raise funds for Talan's Trust, a Charitable Trust we formed in Talan's memory which feeds directly into the Chris Lucas Trust, who fund a full time researcher of childhood cancers at the Royal Marsden in South London.
If you can spare a few pounds to sponsor me for what I am sure will be a chilly, but fun swim, I'd be very grateful!
All proceeds go directly to Talan's Trust.
