Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My little sister Taliya is the bravest little angel in the world. Being a teenager is hard enough as it is, with the struggles of school, hormones and the need to always look your best to impress your peers. Yet, this selfless wonderful 15 year old has taken the decision upon herself to shave her head in support of Velindre Cancer Centre and the phenomenal work they’re doing to help our nanny.
Our Nanny Vicki battled bowel cancer 4 years ago and fought it. March this year, as a family we found out that she has a stage four brain tumour. Following this awful shock, Nanny took the news in her stride and continued being the brave warrior we know she always has been. Since then she’s had an operation which helped to remove a small section of the tumour, and has started her treatment of Radiotherapy and Oral Chemotherapy at the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.
Velindre Cancer Centre is making this struggle that little bit easier, and as a family we are eternally grateful that they are doing everything they can to help our Nanny, and in turn, us.
We are so proud of the strength our Nanny is showing and the selflessness of the middle granddaughter to be as supportive as she is, in every way. In particular, in this amazing way to make our Nanny feel as though she isn’t battling this alone.
Any donations, big or small; or even a share, will be appreciated massively by us all. 50% will go specifically to “Heads First”, the brain trauma department at Velindre Cancer Centre, as requested by Nanny Vicki herself.
