TWB: Who are they?

Translators without Borders (TWB) is a non-profit organization offering language and translation support for humanitarian and development agencies on a global scale. 

Simply put, they are the language industry's Doctors without Borders. Instead of medical assistance, they help people in need get critical information in their own language. 

Examples of the work they do:

• Translated 1,900+ medical articles into 90 languages. Content on topics like Ebola or Zika fever, diarrhea or malaria that is getting about 40 million views per year.
• Trained local translators in Guinea to provide critical and life-saving medical information to help West Africa's most vulnerable communities.
  
• Translated over one million words of critical content into Arabic, Farsi, Kurdish, Urdu, and Pashto for refugees arriving in Greece.
  
• Built freely available online glossaries in Kanuri and Hausa to help humanitarian workers in Nigeria offer aid to people affected by conflict.

What we are doing

We are promoting TWB at tekom 2017 and inviting people to Booth 2/A07 to hear more about this amazing organization's activities. In addition to donating money, visitors will also be invited relax for a bit and help us add color to these beautiful drawings we've prepared (see photo section below).

Each one represents the values that TWB and the entire language industry stand for, so what better way to complete them than with the help of people who make this industry so great!

And the best part? Every donor will have a chance to win one of these one-of-a-kind artworks. Two of the drawings will be raffled off among everyone who donates and will be given to the lucky winners at the end of the fair. And to add a little competition to the mix, the last one will be awarded to the donor who makes the largest contribution to this fundraiser.
