Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking on the challenge of trekking Mount Kilimanjaro this September, on a fully self funded trip and looking to raise much needed funds for Cure Leukaemia.

The reason we have chosen Cure Leukaemia as our charity is in support of The Gauts, Matt, Debbie and Oliver. Below is written by Matt, Harry's dad.

Our lovely little Harry was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) on 31st May 2013 aged just 2 years old and he bravely underwent over 3 years of treatment.

Harry went into remission but cruelly developed Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) which progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in March 2016. Harry's only hope of a cure lay with a Stem Cell Transplant which he duly had on the 29th July 2016.
Tragically Harry passed away shortly after due to complications from the transplant. It was 8 days after his 6th birthday.

Harry was such a happy, loving and brave little boy and we were and always will be incredibly proud of him.

Despite the incredible advances and research into this cruel disease, it still takes far too many lives - both young and old.
